What does 3D Border mean?

A 3D Border or 3D Embroidered Border is one of the four border methods used to sew a patch on a fabric. This technique uses the exact same principles as 3d embroidery to fix the patch or label on the material.

After the patches (or labels) are cut and pre-fixed into position using an adhesive, we add a foam above the patch and our embroidery machines will make the embroidered border around the patch. The foam that is trapped between the thread and the fabric will cause the border to be raised above the fabric.
