What does Velcro mean?
While the term velcro is widespread, immediately recognized and used on its own as a noun, Velcro® is actually a registered trademark deposited by the company which is the original patentor of the hook-and-loop fastener.
Velcros are great because of their ease of use, high flexibility and resistance due to the lack of solid parts that could potentially break.
This type of fastener has two main purposes:
- To fix patches on caps and make them easily changeable
- As a closure type for adjustable caps
